Course Brief Description:
This course deals with the following topics: the concept of
assessment, evaluation, and their importance in the field of early childhood
education, besides, how to develop a scale, and validate it through calculating
its reliability and validity, how to get information about the child through
the following instrumentation (survey, observation, interview, testing,
aptitude scales, personality scales, self-reports, projective tests, individual
and group tests, pictorial scales, sociological scales, intelligence scales,
portfolio), and how portfolio can be used and its advantages. Finally, the
student will design a booklet for mothers and kindergarten teachers on how to
assess and evaluate one aspect of the child growth.
